Gals, I’ve got some extremely exciting news to share! (And, of course, I had to take to technology immediately to do so.) I’m starting my first business with the help of IBM and my most trusted career-girl confidantes: YOU!

I’m aiming to open an online boutique on this site, offering everything from clothes and gadgets, to office accessories and pet products that truly provide treats for your workweek, giving you a competitive edge while making work-life easier and more fun, meeting the daily needs of lady 9-to-5ers and entrepreneurs.

Here’s how we can make our dream shop come true:

IBM has invited me, as well as you –my ProfessionGal readers– to participate in its Smarter Commercecampaign.

For one month, I’ll be sharing our stories on how technology and social media affect our professional-female lives in terms of topics like our pursuit of work/life balance, collaboration and networking. Usually, to find these answers, we go to our favorite blogs and sites for advice and products we can buy to make our working-girl lives easier. But, I want to make it even easier for you: I want to create a one-stop-shop so that you can find them all in one place.

By using the hashtag #MySmarterCommerce on my blog and social media pages (in photos, videos, status updates and blog comments), you can tell IBM and I the problems you face in the workplace, and the things you use or want to have in order to alleviate this stress – allowing me to pinpoint which products translate into solutions for you in my new shop. :) I’ll make sure they’ll be stylish and affordable, of course!

Here’s a Pinterest board I’ve created to track and pin the products we’d love to see in our new ProfessionGal shop.

For example, maybe you have no time for the gym, so an office chair with a built-in ab workout is in your sights? A button-up shirt that doesn’t show your bra between buttons when you sit down, would be nice? How about cute organizers for all of the random junk you throw in your tote?

These are all of the kinds of things I want to know that will help me answer this crucial question so that I can open my shop:
